The business is situated in the delightful English Marches county of Herefordshire, seven miles north east of the Cathedral city of Hereford with its mediaeval Mappa Mundi and Chained Library - two of Britain's most important historical treasures.
This is predominantly an agricultural county, with a rich red earth that is a feature of the landscape. Food and drink account for much of its economy. The county is well known for its beef and cider. The unspoiled rolling countryside has produced the world's best breed of cattle and one can see many fields with docile herds peacefully grazing the lush green grasses. Fruit along with hops abound. Much of the fruit in the county goes into the making of cider and juices and the city is the home of the largest producer of cider anywhere in the world.
Many of the producers are processing the crops from their own land and regularly supply supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, inns and establishments throughout the country and overseas with good wholesome food, including fine wines, a variety of ciders, cider brandy, spring water, dairy products, fruit, vegetables, herbs, grain, meats, game, fish and many other delicious organic and non-organic products.
